Many of the artists whose work we represent have extensive formal training. Some developed their talents in cooperatives. Others are self-taught. But they all share a common passion for their art and an uncommon talent.

With supplies sometimes scarce, many of the artists at Amazwi find innovative ways to express themselves and pursue their art.

Whether on canvas or paper, cardboard or wood, these artists use oils, acrylics, chalk, charcoal, pastels, watercolors and found objects to interpret the world around them in bold, unexpected ways.
